10/17/18 - Band completes annual service trip

From Sunday, October 14 to Wednesday, October 17, 49 members of the Notre Dame Band completed a number of service projects across the greater Indianapolis area as part of the band's annual service trip. Throughout the day on Monday, band members packed bags of food at Gleaners Food Bank for local area students in need of food on non-school days and weekends. On Tuesday, the service group worked with 2 ACE Academies in the area. Projects included assembling furniture, clearing classrooms in need of repair, and repainting aging walls. The final day of this year's service trip involved construction and landscaping work at William McKinley School, and a concert for A Caring Place residents and local elementary school students. Each year, more than 100 band members apply to participate in that year's service trip. This year's trip was full in less than 5 minutes.
