5/30/19 - Concert band completes 2019 tour to Peru

The band's tour began in the Miraflores district of Peru, a cultural hub and center of both commerce and the arts. After exploring the renowned Larco museum and participating in an interactive walking tour of the Miraflores area, the band performed at the National School of Music to a standing room-only crowd. The next day, band members were treated to a historical Paso Horse show before a concert at Peru's Alexander von Humboldt School.

Upon arrival to Cusco, the band visited the Sacred Valley and the Maras salt fields. The next evening, the band's final performance at Cusco's Teatro Municipal was repeated, with more than 500 patrons waiting outside of an already-packed theater for a performance. This was one of the few time's the venue had seen high enough patron demand for an impromtu encore performance. The trip concluded with a guided tour from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, where students learned from local guides about the breathtaking architectural and cultural significance of the site.
